Duties people expect here that the cited law does not impose

Each of these is a claim commonly made about moving to Indiana. Each was checked against the provision named with it, and is not there. The finding is bounded by that provision and says nothing about the rest of Indiana law.

Not in the cited law: A new resident without a driver's license must obtain an Indiana identification card by a fixed move-based deadline

What the cited law does instead. The identification-card chapter provides for issuing a card to an individual who makes an application, is an Indiana resident, and has presented valid documentary evidence of the individual's lawful status in the United States; it states no move-based clock

Not in the cited law: A new resident owes county local income tax from the date of the move

What the cited law does instead. County residence for the local income tax is determined on January 1 of the calendar year in which the taxable year commences; the section speaks only of a move to another county in Indiana and does not say how it treats an individual who was not an Indiana resident on January 1
