About OnAPassage

OnAPassage is a reference for the obligations that attach when a person moves between U.S. states. It exists because those duties are scattered across state codes and agency pages, and because the numbers people repeat about them drift from what the sources say.

The site is generated from a database of obligations, each verified against its primary source and dated. The methodology page describes the pipeline and the quarterly re-verification protocol.

Reading this site

This is an informational reference, not legal advice. Rules change between verifications, and legislatures renumber their sections. Treat every fact here as a well-cited starting point and verify with the linked agency before you act on it.

Measurement

Traffic measurement comes from Cloudflare's edge analytics alone; the pages themselves ship a single script, the state picker.
